Description
This beginner-friendly coding course is ideal for secondary students aged 11 and above who are new to programming and eager to explore the world of Python. Using the popular CodeCombat platform, students will learn fundamental coding concepts through interactive, game-based challenges that make learning both accessible and fun. Over 18 sessions, students will complete over 200 progressively structured tasks that teach them how to write and troubleshoot Python scripts. They will also practice applying logic and creativity in problem-solving scenarios, and use strategic thinking in battle mode to test their skills against dynamic challenges. The course provides access to a full-year CodeCombat license, allowing students to continue learning at home. Participants will also have the chance to enter coding competitions like the ICE Challenge and Code Quest Global. Students must bring their own tablet or laptop to class. This course builds a strong programming foundation while nurturing perseverance and digital confidence.
